What makes it special
Turn the crank and the large spoked gear wheel lifts the steel balls to the top of the run, where they drop into a looping open track and spiral back down to the storage row at the base. Four balls means the track stays busy - one is always somewhere on the run.

A satisfying intermediate build. Every part is laser-cut and friction-fit, so no glue or tools are needed, and the gear train can be tested as you go. The open construction means you can see exactly how the mechanism works while you assemble it.
