What makes it special
The mechanism is the point. A crank on the side drives a train of wooden gears and connecting rods, and that motion is carried up a post to the butterfly, whose four wings are cut in fine filigree and lift as the tune plays. The case is deliberately open-sided so you can watch the whole linkage work, and the lower panels are cut with tulips and leaves so the butterfly appears to hover over a garden.
Build experience
An intermediate build from laser-cut sheets - self-assembly, no glue or chemicals needed. Because the wings are driven mechanically, the gear train has to line up properly, which makes the first turn of the crank a genuine test of your own work.

Small enough for a desk, a windowsill or a bookshelf. The open case and pale laser-cut wood keep it light rather than heavy, and unlike a static model it gives visitors something to pick up and turn.

We prepare your order in 1-3 business days and delivery takes 7-15 business days. Your kit ships directly from our maker in China, which is how we keep shipping free on every order. You will receive tracking where available.
Will I be charged customs or duty?
European Union: import VAT applies. On orders under EUR 150 we pay the flat customs duty for you.
United States: since 29 August 2025 there is no duty-free allowance, so duty applies to every order and is collected by the carrier.
United Kingdom: no customs duty under GBP 135, but VAT applies.
We would rather you know this before you buy than be surprised at the door.
Do I need glue, paint or tools?
No. Every part is laser-cut to friction-fit, so the kit goes together by hand with no glue, no chemicals and no tools.
Do the wings really move?
Yes. The crank drives a wooden gear train and connecting rods that lift the wings while the music plays. There are no batteries and no motor - the movement comes entirely from your hand on the crank.
Is it suitable for a beginner?
It is an intermediate build, recommended for ages 14 and up. The gear train has to line up for the wings to move, so take your time with that section rather than rushing it.
What if a part is missing or damaged?
Email us at nobilrashop@gmail.com and we will sort it out. Returns are accepted within 30 days, unused and in the original packaging - please contact us first so we can approve the return.
